About Us
Young London Plus Housing (YLPH) is a not-for-profit Housing Provider, recently established offering services in the Greater London regions and home counties.
We are part of a subsidiary group wholly owned by (YLPH) Ltd.
We work closely with private landlords and developers to secure a variety of accommodations for young people in a disadvantaged position due to their social and/or health circumstances.
The strong working relationship fostered with key partners is integral to the ongoing provision of quality supported living services that we provide to young people.
YLPH understands the difficulties faced by a young person when leaving local authority care and we will act as the ideal housing pathway to make a successful transition to independent living and education or employment. To achieve these goals, it is important for the young person to feel secure and identify with their own home this often acts as the perfect springboard for developing self-confidence and enables community involvement leading to positive vocational opportunities.
What We Do
We recognise tenancies can often end prematurely due to issues relating to the young person's ongoing welfare and or health concerns, therefore we must develop and maintain close working relationships with empathetic landlords to service we provide so that the young person can sustain their tenancy.
In our experience, we have found that living independently can be daunting after a period in care provision such as local authority Looked After Care services and or being Care Leavers. We therefore provide step-by-step guidance and housing management support that will help alleviate some of the common stresses caused by the transition into supported living.
We are committed to providing excellent customer service and housing management support including:
-
a 24-hour housing related support service, assistance with the completion of housing benefit applications, help and advice relating to benefits & tenancy agreements and guidance to understanding tenancy agreements including rights & responsibilities
-
the landlord's obligations
-
routine home maintenance & emergency repairs
-
maintaining the properties to a standard that is high in quality and finish and more importantly is safe and comfortable.
-
conducting cyclical decorating to maintain high-quality living conditions.
